UFS 111 - 4th Vocabulary Entry


1.Take
a) Take apart
    meaning: to divide into parts after disassembling
b) Take off
    meaning: to assume the control or management of or the responsibility for

2. Break
a) Break in
    meaning: to enter a building by force, usually to in order to steal
b) Break down
    meaning: (used about a vehicle or machine) to stop working

3. Make
a) Make out
    meaning: to get along in a given way ; fare
b) Make for
    meaning: to have or produce (a particular effect or result)

4. Laugh
a) Laugh at
    meaning: to treat lightly ; scoff at
b) Laugh off
    meaning: to dismiss as ridiculously or laughably trivial
